Hi,

I live in Australia :aussie: and have had a 2008 Scarabeo 500ie for 2 years now. It has been a superb scooter. I have only just officially joined these forums but have found it very interesting and useful to read the posts for a while now.

Welcome, great video for your first post. Kennedy stick is cool...before my time though. Beo color scheme looks cool, I like the white metzler paint on the tire, did you buy them like that? Beautiful country roads, really like the twisties. One question, how far from Austin Texas to where the twisties are!!!!!

Thanks for your very friendly reply. I like the Kennedy sticker, too, although my kids think it is a silly idea! Kennedy was before my time, as well, but I enjoy the styling of late 50's & 60's American cars & motorbikes. I am slowly customising my Scarab to give it a little more of that retro look.

I have added the white tire paint to the letters "Metzeler" using a paint-pen I bought from an auto shop. I thought about paying for entire whitewall tire painting but it's way too expensive, in my opinion, especially considering the tires have to be replaced now & then. On the other hand, the paint-pen only cost me about $5 ! Is it your scooter that has the red powder coated wheels? Looks awesome ... and fast even when standing still!

There are some very nice twisties around Sydney, but I'll bet there are some spectacular roads round Texas, too. I love watching Hollywood films that show long, long wide American highways stretching out to the horizon...

Thanks. Glad you like my stripes. It's not a special reflective material but because my scooter is charcoal-grey, the contrasting white is very visible. Hopefully that makes things safer when riding, especially at night.
