Got her used - 2007 f4 1000r 1+1. Only 1000 miles on the ticker - still had the rubber nipples on the tires and over an inch and a half of chicken strips on the OEM rear (which I immediately took care of :)).

All I can say is wow - what a fun bike. Very demanding to ride, but a total blast! The 04 Factory is much easier to ride fast, IMO though. But damn is she a looker and a total adrenaline rush once you wind her up.

So....what was the price you paid?

He was a distressed seller - got him down to 10k after 3 weeks of negotiating and waving cash in front of his face :)

If by hold onto you mean ride the wheels off, yes. IMO bikes were made to be ridden!

So I have to say I don't likethe rizoma rear sets the guy had installed. They LOOK fantastic. However, the heal plate is way too flexible for my liking. I like to anchor my heel against the bike when I'm hanging off the other side. It's not possible with those rear sets.

What a horrible looking bike.

Kidding, beautiful. Nice price too.

God damn is this thing uncomfortable compared to the Mille! Went on a marathon twisties ride this weekend. At a very spirited pace of about 10 hours of riding, the Mille would leave me kind of sore the day after. On the MV I was in some pretty serious pain on the final sections, which are all downhill.

thats what kept me away from even a used one, plus the high heat I've heard about

As long as you keep the bike moving, it's fine. I wouldnt' recommend sitting in stop and go traffic - but that's what lane-sharing is for anyway. :)

they don't allow that here, I was looking into some used MV's but with the lay of the land in the midwest I'm glad I didn't get into one. I still love them and if I had the money and access to a track I would be all up on one, I can't even imagine a better all around sport bike than my RSVR though.

MV -- The ONLY I-4 that gives me wood.

Just down a bottle of Advil prior to departure. "Fuck it, dude, let's go riding."

:plus:

Just rode the recently dropped-off '02 F4 to the shop this afternoon. Sweet.

Now I gotta 'choose' between her or the Shiver.

Wife did NOT like the idea of a 3rd bike....ergh. Talking is 'hard'! :o
