I needed to do this for awhile. It is one of those jobs I need to be in the mood for.My RZ is apart for a total rebuild and like many $$$ is tight so it sits waiting. However there are a few things I can do for free that help a lot.One is port matching the cases to the ported cylinders.
So yesterday afternoon I grabbed a cup of coffee and a cigar and headed out to the shop.A little bit of Dykem steel blue on the cylinder bases, the non dryng paste type for showing high spots on flat surfaces.Install then remove the cylinders leaving a pattern for me to follow.
Fire up the compressor and pick up the die grinder.make a lot of noise and dust.Viola!More power fo' free. It's the little things that add up.

I am liking it TREX, is this the injected 2t?

It's the one that will end up injected but (lack of) money has sidetracked that item.

Mmmmmm..... EFI. Good.
i told a friend that when I get another SF2 I will remove the generator for an alternator, add on a modern ignition (CB750 kit can be used) and look into fuel injectors.
My friend thinks I'm daft. too bad. I want the EFI!
I also want to ride an RZ350 someday. Those bikes look like wicked fun.

If those cases match your transfer ports than you have room to take much more material off both. The transfers are the main area of porting an RZ engine to make more power.

TREX if you want a set of free GSXR throttle bodies to help get the ball rolling, maybe some more stuff, hell put together a list, then I can make it happen for you. Of course, one day I would like to take it for a spin.

Thanks Micah. We'll see.Right now I'm experimenting with the intake side.I'm going back to the 26MM stock carbs and the stock airbox with all the internal baffles and horns.I think the output will be far more than many believe.

Joe I am well aware the transfers on the RZ leave much to be desired. The cylinders were ported by Ed Erlenbach before he retired. It's only a stage II hot street. If I wanted maximum output it would have a monoblock on it.I'm happy with where it's at.
