EICMA is set to get underway this week and there are few sites with real solid coverage. So I figured why not start a thread here to put all the news directly in it so we make our own one-stop shop for news without all having to search a ton of sites many of which arn't even in english. This doesn't have to be just Aprilia either.

i don't think MV is going in the right direction with this design. maybe why tamburini quit, maybe it's harley's fault. it also appears to be just ONE headlight.

Looks exactly the fucking same to me!!!! What the hell is the difference??? A couple of cut out's of the side fairing? Squared off exhaust tips. :spankie:

Yeah, no bueno. After a 13 year wait, I was expecting a bit more. It looks like the jacked the nose up and slid in more air intake. Deft touch there. The rumor is Tambo designed this bike prior to his departure.

Actually there are a lot of changes, they are just subtle. First thing you notice is the return of the star wheels which has been gone since 2005 with the F4-1000s. All of the fairings are different with the front upper being more slanted and shorter proportionally. Air intakes are larger with the screens recessed. The mirrors are different; more angular towards the front. the venting on the fairings is much larger and more pronounced. The rear seat climbs a bit more towards the rear and the fuel tank has less of a pronounced edge where the tank usually meets your xyphoid process (the bit that dangles below your sternum).

Overall, I like the older model better, which is good since I have it in my garage. There are some changes I really like, like the dash, the mirrors etc. but overall nothing to get me to buy a new one, unless I didn't have one. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either...

If you really stare at it, you'll see it is an all new bike. I think they just kept with tradition. I am pretty sure that in 2-3 years we may see a new design if they get some money. I think they should have ditched the underseat exhaust and made the fairing fastners like the new R1. You know so they are hidden. It could stand to loose about 20lbs too. Other than that great job MV ur Harley??? Eric?

Well the F4 really HAD to be evolutionary instead of revolutionary. Look what Ducati did with the 999 and they almost lost their shirts. MV is much smaller than Ducati and a styling disaster would kill the company.

Yes it could use to drop a few pounds which actually raised a few eyebrows in the MV community. I think most people expected a big weight reduction which didn't really come. I think part of that is because the engine is most likely the same basic architecture as the last generation, but there are things like the swingarm which are just heavy.

Body fasteners, I'll keep the Dzus fasteners any day. It is much nicer to be able to strip the panels in 1-2 minutes versus hiding fasteners.

Under seat exhaust is a trademark feature of the bike, just like the star wheels, that is why they are still there.

i was thinking that exactly, the design is a winner so they cant start from scratch, it looks like all the bodywork has been changed including the tank, not to mention the traction control and 186hp, bike is a winner in my eyes, now who knows about there company structure and its future right now

Forget the MV's, saw this concept of a Guzzi V12 that got me all giggly:

I LOVE those moto guzzis.......

Me too - I'd really like to see taillight/turn signal/plate holder options similar to what they have on there, for current production bikes.

I'd love the exhaust on my Breva 1100 to look like that....:lover:
Looks like it would be bye-bye center stand though.
