Nice bike! I think I see Galfer rotors up front? I'm jealous.

edit: I guess that is the 8V. I see those rotors are factory - wow.

FWIW I think the petal rotors are inferior to the standard, *Circular* Brembo's. Having said that the brakes pads on my 1100 were changed early in the piece and I haven't, yet, experimented with different pads on the 1200. By all accounts from people I trust the way to braking Nirvanha is to fit a radial M/C but I ride like such a dullard I haven't yet found it neccessary!

The story was that the bike was originally owned by either the son or one of the employees of a shop owner in Ringold GA. The bike was apparently a bit too much for him and he traded it back on a scooter. Then the owner, a certain Joe Prebul I think was the name, (I googled it up and got the story.) went broke and/or was accused of fraud to the tune of many millions, his dealership went into recievership and the place I bought the bike from snapped up all the old stock. They are principally a car dealer and didn't want the bikes, (Anyone want a 'Road King'? They have one of those too.) I got to hear about the Griso, gave the 'Locals' a day to jump on it but nobody did, so I snapped it up!

Amazing. thousands under dealer cost and only 150 miles! It needs the cam recall doing and a new battery but big deal!

Great bike. Those are not Galfer but Braking Wave rotors that come standard on most Guzzies now

Not quite. Early Griso 12's got 'em, 1200 Sports, (With the 2VPC motor.) got 'em but all the other antedeluvian shitboxes got *traditional* rotors I think. Just checked the Oz website and the new 1200 4VPC is there and it has *round* discs too.

Personally I'd probably quite happily swap my petals for a set of 'Normals' they do nothing for me, in fact they are considerably more 'wooden' than the brakes on the 1100.

Just bought myself a brand new Griso 1100 (2008) model as a road bike as i have converted my RSV4 into a track only bike.
Circular discs on mine. Paid 5995 at 0% over 2 years. 0 miles on the clock & dropped on a brand new termingoni can on ebay for 500. Liberates the "proper" sound on the twin without upsetting Joe Public or plod. The OE pipe is a joke - and i fart louder than that even when sitting on the sofa ....... :fangs:

Termi's fail to upset Joe Public?? Not the set I had on my 1999 Laverda. Those pipes warned every policeman a mile away from me that I was heading their way! I always liked the sound of good exhaust pipes better on the 90 degree V-Twin so you should have the best sound on the road with your Guzzi.

You should post up a video of both of your bikes :worship: The sight and sound of them would be a treat.

The fart clip would be a good one, too. Personally, I think you're suffering from illusions of grandeur, but I could be wrong.
