Question??
Next to the oil filter near bottom of the bike there is two holes that go thru, the front engine section. One hole has rubber cover. What are they for??
Why I am asking... is that I am wondering if it's possiable to modify and install foot boards or foot peg rest for the long haul trips.
Thanks for any input or thoughts

My guess, (Without going out for a look at mine 'cos it's bloody freezing out there and I haven't got boots on!) is that they are an engine mounting lug for when the motor is used in a scooter or some other machine.
From memory the 'ole would be a bit low for mounting pegs if you wanted to ever go around a corner!

I agree with Pete...I believe it is used in the GP800.

Really cool I am not the only one thinking about it.
Are you going straight out the bike or come up abit when you reach the outer edge of the motor ?
I put a long bolt straight thru it to check the clearance. I wouldn't extend outward pass where the stock pegs are at.
Left foot placement might be tricky for this modification.
More Bulky on that side of the bike, I had to pivot my left foot around that casing.
What's your idea/plan ?

No I don't wanna go that far Pete
I have been taking long distance road trips lately.
And at 6'2 and long legged I am cramped a bit. Short trips and commute to is fine.
I don't want to replace the whole bike to stretch the old legs and get this slow pig.......

I've got R&G frame sliders on my bike. It's not exactly what we talk about here, but when I do a long run, it's great for change the position of my legs and my back. It's just a pity that the air filter is a little bit in the way...
