If you saw last month's Cycle World, David Edwards talked about is latest toy The bimota Dieci. This was my second bimota purchased with 2000miles on it and had been on display in the owner's den, when I got it seven years ago it did not run and the fun began.

A new battery than clean the carbs and she runs but not over 5000rpm. With some more work found the EZUP valve had been hooked up backwards and killed the servo motor that controls it, with some more work could get it to run over 7000rpm really well or under 5000rpm really well but not on the same ride. I got a full exhaust system to get away from the EXUP valve, with some work on the jetting was able to get it running good everywhere but 3000rpm-4000rpm where there was a hole as deep as the grand canyon. Now findind the rear shock was gone had Penske build me a new one a first for them and a first for me. The Penske shock worked out quite well, but 10mpg. was not. Also added a fork of a Ducati 748 and the brembo Gold Line calipers with new Nissin masters for the brakes and clutch.

With some help from this forum thanks Scary and Micah. Having the Carbs in and out of the bike over seventy times getting rid of the stock airbox, it was starting to come together, but still not perfect. Micah thought a more restrictive muffler would help and it did. With the some drilling of the slides and jet work Today it works the way it should. God I love bimota's.

Yeah, I love the 90's ones, before they went silly. I still crave an SB6R, still look out for one in hope the right one will fall in my lap..... congrats and enjoy. Yes, more pics please!

Good work that 'Returning to intended use'.
No bike should be locked up in a den.

Makes sense to restore a bike of value too.
My project bike is an '80 GS1000E, but still fun to rebuild.

Yes, more pictures and restoration details please.....

Here is another photo, and a photo of the frame on a Y11 which is very similar to the frame on the Dieci. The Dieci has a cross brace just below the bellmouths of carbs, it helps if you were born blind to get the carbs off.

I was able to get a set of Dymag wheels and brake disc. of the kit of Alan Cathcarts World Championship DB2. The rear went on very easy just had to cut a sprocket to fit the chain line. The front had to cut the mounting bosses on brembo calipers by 5mm each side. The stock wheels look really good but are very heavy, saved about 20lbs. Sorry about rust on the disc's but they had not been used for many years.
