View Full Version : Delivery delayed?

My dealer has no other information about RSV4 delivery than "any day now". I wanted to check a second source for information, and called another dealer. They told me that delivery is postponed until further notice due to some kind of issue with the bike. They wasn't even sure that delivery would be this year at all! :WTF:
Now, it might very well be that they have completely wrong or insufficient information. Does anyone have better information from local dealers or distributors in europe?

This is the same kind of info Iīve got. Nobody really knows, I got a feeling that the problems Aprilia are having is so big that they donīt know WTF to do right now!

Given the fact numerous bikes are now on the street in several European countries I'd say they haven't a clue. Dealers are usually the last to know anything factual.

If there is a problem with the bike, there would be a recall in the UK and other countries where it has been released. So, anyone in the UK heard of a recall?

In which countries has it been released then? The only one I have heard about is Switzerland, there was a thread about it on this forum. But do we know if this was customer bikes?

my dealer told me that the bike is been delayed already and this wenseday the bike will be shipped so hopefully the bike will be here this week at the end, maximum start of the next week, so lets hope,,,,, otherwise i will start take down the price as i have given all the money, almost one month now

Diablo1, in the UK only dealers have the bike not customers. we are still waiting i have heard nothing at all about when my bike will be in. Its very frustrating.

Spoke to Trevor Franklin from MCN as well as my dealer and they have not heard anything of the sort.
I am still not being told when it is arriving but as far as i am aware there are no 'issues' at Aprilia?
I am getting very frustrated too, especially when money has left the bank and all you get told is 'you will know when we do'!
Surely someone somewhere knows when the hell they are being delivered, its not as if its a small project is it!

Guys
My dealer phoned me today and told me he has an invoice and a V55 registration document for my bike in the post which normally means the bike arrives within 3 days. His computer system also shows a small lorry symbol next to the order also indicating its being delivered direct from the factory in Noale, Italy.
He is guessing it will arrive on Thursday and confident it will be no later than Monday.
No problems with the bike or Aprilia, just chill and be patient.
All good things come to those who wait.
I'm in UK.

Had my final invoice for about 4 days now and registration number for about 10.
Track bodywork getting sent from Italy at the end of the week and exhaust shortly after.........getting there baby! :bump:

rsvfourdave, so who is your dealer? Mine knows nothing other than they have been invoiced for some bikes. Revdecal seems we are not one of the chosen few. I would be patient if i didnt give up my 07 factory as i was told April the 29th so its been a long time without a bike. The ride at silverstone was a great day but having no info for this long is just typical Aprilia. Did you read Niall Mc in TWO? he does ask a good question. Where are you Aprilia?

Im 2nd on the list with my dealer (Taz Motorcycles) and as they are Europes number 1 dealer, 'supposedly' they get 1st dibs?
Cant be long now.....trouble is with forums is that few people actually can give you sound information on topics like this, just more speculation.
It will be worth the wait, that much i do know.
Trevor Franklin said that the RSV4 went through the speed trap at Bruntingthorpe at a recorded 189mph!!!

Iīm impressed by your coolness!!!!! I missed the first race of the year, and couldīnt wait any longer. I think small markeds like the Norwegian areīnt first on the list so I gave up! I called up the KTM-importer and it took them 5 days to get me a raceready bike! So itīs not going to be a Rsv4 for me this year.... I think:bangwall:

Well spoke to my dealer this morning and he has v55's in hand so the bikes cant be far away like Rich22 said maybe early next week. He has said that the Aprilia reps have had a shuffle around and now my part the UK has a new rep. Here is hoping that the new rep knows something.

I just spoke directly to a representative of one of the european distributors. He had no clue, they simply didn't have any information (not that he would share anyway). He said delivery would probably be sometime in June (no surprise it wasn't May!), but at least before August...
I can't believe that a company like Aprilia don't inform their channel properly. Not impressive.

Im getting pissed off now as i rang my dealer again expressing my disapointment in not being kept in the loop to be given the usual answer of 'when we know you will know'.
10 minutes later my broker called me as they had to call my dealer to arrange transfer of funds, which they cannot do without a chassis number, to be told that they are on there way and should arrive the end of the week!!
Why the f**k couldnt they tell me that!?
Do you think that Aprilia have told them to not provide any delivery info for some reason (increase the hype?)

Just heard that Somali pirates have hi-jacked the ship coming to the UK.
Dont panic, Ive sent Taper and Intune to negotiate their release by convincing the Somalis the V4 is a flawed bike nobody wants.
Unfortunately the Somali pirates don't believe their bullsh*t either and are holding on to them until Friday or Monday.:gunner:

rsvfourdave, I have gone for the Aprilia one. R and G dont have them listed and LOL when i rang R and G to see about crash bungs and tail tidy the chap hadnt heard of the V4 i know that was a few weeks ago but didnt inspire me. There is company in Exeter who are also in the middle of a prototype tail tidy too. Aprilia make two tail tidy's one is adjustable i couldnt see the point but thats just me. Talking of options the Akro comes with three maps to install and Proven Products dont even have any info on the slip on can. I had to LOL when i pointed out to them that it is listed on the Akro site as coming soon. One last thing has every one see the R and G crash bungs? what were they thinking do they look odd or is that just me?

Thanks mate, and yes they are odd and if you read the instructions you have to drill big holes in the fairing.:(

All in good time, all in good time.
Dealer can't PDI it until Monday and I can't pick it up until wednesday because I'm busy at work trying to pay for new baby.
Torture I know but will hopefully get some pics from the dealers on saturday when I drop some insuranance documents off to them.
My dealer has been tops throughout, Bowen Moto, in kent. Picked me up, took me to silverstone, let me thrash his demo bike, kept me updated when all around were losing their heads and let me know the moment it arrived today.
Anyone thinking of getting one in SE England, give Mark or Kevin a call at Bowen Moto.
Also told me crate had some extra bits in including a front wheel speed sensor for racing purposes which me thinks may be for future traction control to monitor front and rear wheel speed ???

Thats good news :-)
Do you know if the pillion seat is included? would hope so as has pillion pegs.
Also wondering as its the "race spec" if the gear pedal can be easily reversed for racing shift? have got used to my RSV with racing shift or maybe that option only comes with rear sets?
revdecal
05-29-2009, 06:14 AM
You can only reverse the gear shift into race if you buy a set of rear sets i'm afraid mate.

Yes tis true, they are working on a race ecu which will be plug and play into the factory harness and give you laptop control over all things electronic like engine braking, throttle, and traction control. Will be part of their aftermarket accessories in near future.
