Anyone heard anything regarding what the base model will come with? I am guessing Showa forks, cast wheels...

Showa suspension, low spec breaks I'd guess, locked swing arm and engine mounting and front headstock, less carbon bits if any etc

Not offering adjustability for the swingarm, headstock and engine mounts would be surprising.

Its been stated these features will not be on the base model.

but the base model should still have the ohlins front just like the current RSV1000R

Unless I am missing something would that not mean they would have to produce two different frames. Sounds expensive for Aprilia in order to make a base model.

the frame could easily be built on the same frame line....just without all the extra slot machining (machining costs $ / sec), and intricate adjuster pieces (prob not cheap to make).

I bet it will still have Ohlins forks like the current base RSVR, the savings will mainly come from the cast wheels, rear shock, and plastic vs carbon pieces.

and what about the variable length admision ? Here in France they say that the base model won't have it ...

The price differencial will be good to see now if the above comments are true. Also where they position the components will be critical as well.

As i understand it it will have variable intakes, no carbon, no ohlins, lesser model brembos and no adjustable frame/swing arm different wheels.

if it doesnt have the other stuff it wont have the quick change cassette. no way in hell.

ill be shocked if it doesnt have ohlins front end though. that alone will make it worth buying the factory
