Hello All,
Was surfing the Mille site and came across a thread that stated not to reconnect the green and yellow wires after installing pipes and chip. When I installed mine the bike would not fire up with out those wires connected. Have been riding happily for a month on this set up. I hear you you can really mess stuff up. Maybe RSC chip set up is unlike others, Factory pro and such. Anybody know. Thanks

Recent Mille's (01+) require the EPROM to be replaced. NOT have a wire cut.

What cutting the wire does/did is activate an alternate map on the stock EPROM that is intended to compensate for derestriction and aftermarket pipe. This system was created to get around some of the importation/emissions rules in the more restrictive countries. However, those same countries complained bitterly that it was too easy to derestrict the bike and threatened Aprilia with various Regulatory nonsense... So Aprilia had to make the process more difficult.

So now, Mille owners have to pull bungs from the intake runners, remove a plate from the airbox, replace the exhaust, and completely replace the EPROM. Ideally, they'd install the older rubber guide that fits from the intake runners to the airbox as well...

MUCH more difficult than cutting a wire, pulling a plate and grinding out an exhaust restrictor.

BTW - Boycott Swiss Army Knives/chocolate, French wine, and wienerschnitzel.
