NOW I need all this f*ckin snow to go away, the temp to rise to above 15 Celcius then I'll be rolling her. I'll be having her the whole summer and will try to squeeze in as many km's as I can between my Old School Hot Rod Smallframe, Ducati Monster, Aprilia 750 Shiver, Gilera GP800 and the odd importer demo hack

Nice.
I think my favorite super color is the black. With the blacked wheels it is just wicked looking. I also like the red and the white, so really there is no bad choice.
I am waiting to see what kind of speeds the 300 can hit. I have done 85mph (speedo) on our GT200 in a tuck. 300 may hit 95mph? I wonder if the final drive ratio is the same, and what the top gear limited speed is?
Does it still have the vented side body? Do the vents go to anything other than the fuel tank on the 300?

YES & NO....
I guess the vents are aimed at my demografic group (old folks) who still remember (and still owns a few like me) the Old School Vespa from the 50's & 60's that had the vented engine lid, no more, no less. About the colours, over the years we have learned to ALWAYS pick a loud colour for a demo since it must stick out, last year Aprilia Sweden's press Aprilia Mana was silver, the pix of it in mags looked flat and when driven to meets and such it was invisible, that's why the Starol Racing (http://www.starol.se/) Vespa Demo is lipstick red, if it was mine it would be white...
I'm really looking forward to put some time on it, during the last couple of years I have sold quite a few of Aprilia Sport City 200 & 250, the 200 with carb motor was nice and would easily do 110kph the 250 with injected motor (just like this 300) was a huge leap forward both in performance & braking, i guess i hit 140kph without a tuck and the dual disc brakes were awesome but what I have heard is that the Vespa with the smaller 12" wheel has a slightly different gearing than the Sport City and others with the larger wheels so I guess top speed is a bit down on the Vespa even with similar power output but that must also mean better take off....
DP says: If the Vespa is to slow there's always the Gilera GP 800 but for looks it's the Vespa that kicks ass....

I had a go on one yesterday. What a tool what a revelation. I have been thinking of selling my Shiver, not getting the use it should. I have a big trallie Suzuki V Strom for touring and holidays. Vespa would suit good for just going about on and could piss of many a bike mad mates.. I last rode a Scoot on he road regularly in the 60's. Soon bought a bike! But this is so good as a machine I find it hard to believe.. I must have one,in white now, well perhaps in a while.. Watch this space.. :burnout:

The dealer near me has one in white and black. They are effing SWEET.
If they made one in the tangerine orange the 50's and 125's come in, it would be all over. I'd sell my car.

If you really want one with a turbo...well, it can be had for a price and a long wait. Or a blower. I have collected pretty much all of the parts required to do my Vespa, now just a matter of finding weeks of free time to do it in. The turbo I chose was the KKK KP31 which should be good for a true 35-38 bhp on my dyno at 1 bar boost pressure.

Search eBay for AMR300 and AMR500 superchargers, 300 and 500cc per pulley revolution of displacement, which means on say the tiny AMR300 driven at 1.5:1 compared to crank speed boost would be about 7.5 psig or .5bar from idle to redline. Max blower continuous operational speed is 16k rpm for both blowers.
I know how to make a 300 "Super" really super!

Some pics of the little AMR300 blower...300cc per revolution of the pulley...think about it...could make about 11 psig on the 300 super from idle to rev limiter!

Apologies, but I found this thread while searching / reading threads about the 'GTS300ie'.
Now, I'm a little confused, as here there are only two models (with the 300cc motor) which are:
1. GTS300ie 'Sport'
2. GTS300ie 'Super Sport'
The differences between the 'Super' and standard 'Sport' are limited to:
1. 'Red' front spring
2. Different seat covering / shape
3. Badge on the glovebox
4. Colour / paint
5. Detailing on the 'horn' cover panel
Unconfirmed changes may also point towards different settings for the rear shocks and possibly even some very mild 'tweeks' to the engine.
