I am looking to sell my 2000 Aprilia Mille RSV, I have roughly 5300 miles on it, the only mods are Aprilia Racing titanium shotgun exhaust and ecu. It's never been down and always professionally maintained. I have it listed for $5995 does this seem high? I have had it for sale for a couple of weeks locally (seattle) and have had some low ballers and trade offers but nothing serious.

You'd think that would be a great price for that bike but there are tons of deals out there right now and most people aren't buying toys. It's a tough market. I've got the exact same bike and I'm keeping mine till they start appreciating.

I thought it seemed like a heck of a deal as well, maybe it just seems that way to us because we know and love the bikes and the people looking at the ads don't have the familiarity with the product.

Scan the ads in this forum and see what $6000 does and doesn't buy.

I appreciate the feedback, it's hard separating myself form the the bike, to me the bike is much better than a $4900 motorcycle.

My local dealer has an '03 Mille RSV with only 1500 miles for $5,995.00 and that's the asking price. So in that light the $4900 recommendation is probably valid.

FYI..

If you need to sell, then you should think about what will make people move on it. Just because it's worth a lot to you, does not mean it is to others. In northern California most used bikes on Dealers floor are priced at last years prices, and because of that they have sat for for over a year, really nothing is moving in northern California without wholesale pricing.......

The Dealers will tell you that their prices move bikes, well maybe yes, and mostly no.

Ask you local dealer what he would pay for your bike outright, he'll most likely say $3k, that's the reality...

I would say in today's market you are looking at a "Sell" price on the west coast of $4,000 to $4,500 max.....

Sorry for the bad news, yet IF you do not have to sell, then leave it in the garage, and allow it to bring smiles to you, either admiring it, or riding it!!

Cheers,
Mark

People have money and want a deal in this new AGE of collapse !

About 5 months back an RSV/R with like 2,600 miles in Jamaica Vermont listed on e bay and someone saw it and posted it here sold for i think $5,000 as i was intrigued but can't stretch over that far <middle age an all>Ii stick to the Falco.but as it was close to me i was dreaming and that bike had a lot of extras also.
