Aprilia best position at the World Super Bike race in Aust was 13th.
What a start ( Lucky 13 )
We still carn't beat thoes Ducatis even if Jesus Christ was riding an Aprilia.
Makes any resale on an Aprilia compared to a Ducati stay low.
Weres the Aprilia V-1200 ? Ducati seems to do it but we carn't.

Didn't the BMW do better also? I wasn't able to catch the race but that's what I was told.
First race ever. And Max was running third in the second race. First race!

Geez, tough crowd.
First race, Corser puts the BMW in 8th, mad Max comes 11th on the Ape, just remember this is Corsers home track, he's won it many times and he's always fighting for the lead no matter what he's on.
Second race, Corser comes 22nd, Max comes 15th after being run off the track at the hay shed, into grass and gravel when he was in the top three for 21 laps out of 22, changing the lead every lap or so with Haga and Spies.
Think that a pretty good showing, for a first up effort.
As for your mates rubbing it in about the bmw,I'd be asking them to put their money where their mouth is, Aprilia will win a race before the Bmw does.

the ducati has had years of technical data behind them, aprilia do not, i was suprised sending it on front row on grid, and honstly middle of pack is where more where i expected it for first few races, until they iron some bugs out, since no matter how much testing you do, real racing shows you were things are lacking and need improving/changing

Not quite......
Spies passed biaggi on Lap 1, Turn 2, ROUND THE OUTSIDE!!! made him look like a fool. Once haga passed, Biaggi never challenged again, just tried to hang on.
The bike clearly had braking issues. If Max could've braked deeper, it would have been a different race.
Aprilia will work the kinks out. Look for Nakano to Podium before Max. You heard it here first.

Which from what I can see means shit. Sorry bro but where was Nakano at? I didn't get to see race 2, speed shit. I was talking to some of the Daniese boys out west and they said Max put up a hell of a fight in the second race. Again I didn't get to see it. Maybe some of the UK guys can confirm. Not that it counts but didn't Max get second in the super pole? I always love to see Haga win even if he's not on an Ape. He really deserves a title. I hope if the Ape doesn't get it this year then Haga does. I think Aprilia did great in what the first race in over 8 years. There will be some bugs to work out, I'm sure. Yes, the BMW did great as well. I'm sure better than most would expect. The Duc has been there for awhile and no doubt with Haga on it is ready for a fight. Great first race and even the Suzuki was impressive. Should be a great season. I'm just happy Aprilia is back out there to fight the good fight. Lets not be to disappointed and take anything from any of them just yet. If Casey is out of the GP, this maybe the best racing we have this year.

Maybe that was payback for elbowing him out of the first race:)

Just re-watched it, as I was sure he was dueling for the lead, but your right, he didn't but he could always pull it up level/slightly in front down the main straight and he was all over the back of them upto the last 6 laps.
Does look like the brakes aren't working as well as they can, or is it the chatter they have been talking about?
Maybe memories of the 300km crash at turn one last year, is stuck in he's head as well.
As for who sticks it on the podium first, I couldn't give a flying toss, as long as its on top:happy:
Wonder what the going rate is for the Aprilia to win the champ this year?

Undeveloped bike, 1st race in anger, running 3rd against fully developed factory equipment for 90% of the race!

Where do u guys get that from? Look at almost every turn in to the apex Max always made 2-3 metres on Haga in front. The way i see it is that the Ape turn like a dream and look dead stabile in the corners. Problem to me looks like the have massive grunt from pickup but on the fast corners hard on acceleration it seems to lack. Everytime max came out of the last corner before the straight Haga pulled 5-10 metres within seconds even with 10-15bhp less.
Anyway i was major impressed by the bike but i think Max needs to fight a little harder and donīt give up his places so easily.

Didn't they mention that it was an issue of tire life? Max gave it a running for in Race 2 though and i think it'll add up to a decent season. Lets just hope the sales of this thing will re-enforce it

Good christ guys, I agree with some of the others here. The Yamaha and Ducati did NOT run away from Max. I was totally stoked that the sumbitch held it's own on the straights. I don't really care for Max's public persona but I think he gave it a respectable show. Shit! Two Aprilias are in WSBK for the first time in what.....6 years and you moaning. Buy a freaking Suzuki and be done with it.

That's right, Zed. Thought it was a great showing for Aprilia's first race with an all new bike! WTF, did you guys think it was gonna win both races?
Max was RIGHT THERE with Haga and Spies...until the end. The RSV4 will be on the podium this year

How do we know the Ape is the problem on the brakes? Perhaps it's Biaggi that has the problem? He was never some sort of monster on the brakes in the GP's. And he screws up when there are other riders around him, as he displayed in the second race.
Personally to be in third the entire time and looking very comfortable doing it, is a good sign.

For me the first two races look more than promising for the RSV4 and Aprilia's Team. A few things we can be excited about:
1. The RSV4 makes competitive power!
2. No engine falures from either bike thus far (knock on wood).
3. Once they figure out what tire works best there will be an Aprilia in the #1 podium spot.
4. Biaggi and Nakano have to and will learn to race has teammates (Shake and Bake!)

2 podiums at their second appearance in anger, what say all ye naye sayers now?. the RSV4 is a winner. By the way you guys Stateside have got in Ben Spies the next World Champ, he's good and by that f@#@#g good, see where the next Yamaha finished.

everyone said spies just didnt have any competition, plus they always said mladin big fish in a little pond, well mladin was really the only guy to beat spies in the last few years, so i think the old man could give most of the sbk riders a run for there money
spies is the real deal, i think he can take it this year

The way Spies is riding, I don't see anyone beating him. Hopkins is coming to WSBK, but he's already behind in points in a new series, on a new bike, with new tires. Haga will make Spies fight for it, but I'm sure Ben will win. :( Sucks, for some reason I don't like him. I always hated Mladin, but once Ben started winning, I started to root for Mat.

Aprilia fans should be very pleased about the season so far.
Max and Aprilia were very fast today and so was Nakano!
I am very big Suzuki fan, but i really hope that Aprilia will beat them all in this season!
Little manufactor builds unique motor with four cylinders even they have much experience from two cylinder motors!
That shows very big balls what Aprilia has!
My guess is that Aprilia will take win before series goes to USA.
