I had to go to the coast and pick up the keys to our new beach house

So I went for a little ride on this;

There are lots of nice twisty bits around here;

and if it weren't for the wallopers it would probably be more fun on this

But despite what some may say the 'Prila does everything well and is VERY comfy. The view from the pilots perch is uncluttered

Up on the top of the hill it was very smokey. This is from the Gippsland fire that are still burning in Victoria, over 250 miles away from where the pic was taken.

Good few bikes out as well, it wasn't too hot but it did drizzle a bit in the morning.

When I got home I found my living room cluttered up with this idiot

commonly known as the 'Black Pudding'

and this idiot

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3302/3299098019_b5dbc0ba34.jpg?v=0
known as 'Bean'

and today we went off and did a bit of this

What a horrible weekend you had.

Myself, I mostly sat around the house playing X-Box because the wind is gusting to 40mph and the temperatures are in the low 50's.
Today is supposed to be near 70 degrees F with very little wind, so I might get to make a run through the countryside.

Guessing that the worst of winter's over, I spent all weekend strip cleaning my bike to get the tarnish and salt corrosion off it. Sods's law says I've guessed wrong and I'll have to do it all again lol.

Although it gets poisonously cold here (-8*C is common in July and August it is also incredibly dry.) Ice is very rare, although caution due to frost isn't a bad idea! It also warms up quick. It is rare that it isn't well above freezing by 10AM. That means we don't have salt on the roads and for modern bikes salt isn't just a cosmetic killer. The lack of boots on things like brake pistons to keep crap out means that in the UK brake rebuilds are an almost annual occurence unless you stop riding from November until April.

My Sympathies, Really. I'm not a completely unreasonable 'Rhymes with Runt.'

I did it the other (wrong??) way around, left So Cal for Snow Sweden but during the summer it's probably the best place in the world to be and the women!!!!!!

Right back at you, when you feel the urge for some Scandinavian fun there's a s*itload of bikes waiting for you....

DP says: Winter here is a great excuse for drinking beer....
