From the Feb 2004 Roadracing World:

Some of the major Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are floating the idea of replacing the 125cc two-stroke Grand Prix class with one requiring 450cc single-cylinder four-stroke engines in 125cc GP chassis. Photographs taken at a recent Motorcycle racing Federation of Japan (MFJ) meeting show two new four-stroke GP racers, one built and powered by Yamaha and another built by the HarcPro aftermarket company and powered by a Honda engine.

This is getting interesting....

I saw that too - definitely a space to watch!

Single cylinder? I wonder why they would allow only single cylinder engines? They really need to allow 450cc V-twins...:D

Maybe that's why. Aprilia already has a 'head start' with their engine if they make the rules for a twin. Dirty bastards (Japanese factories) only want to play if they set the rules. Crap, it's Grands Prix. 450cc, ANYTHING GOES.:fangs:
