I'm working a deal right now with a dealer about 3hrs from me to get a new 2001 Falco for $8K. I think it's a good price.

I was supposed to leave early tomorrow morning to get the bike but I got a call around 7 this evening from the salesman. He said the service dept thinks the bike has a bad fuel pump. I guess they came across this when servicing the bike before they sold it to me. The salesman says they are going to try putting in a fuel pump off a Mille they have in stock and see what happens. I didn't get details about how the bike was/wasn't running, only that the salesman would call me when it's ready.

So here's my question - Have any of you had problems with a fuel pump on your Falco? Also, should I be concerned at all with this bike? It is new, has never been ridden or even serviced before. I imagine they will make it right before I pick it up, I just want to make sure I'm not getting into a potential situation with a bike that may have more problems once I take delivery.

As always - thanks for your input.

While it isn't ideal that a situation like this would arise, I wouldn't worry about it if it were me. I don't have any technical input, but it sounds more like you're looking for reassurance. The bike will still be under warranty and it sounds like they're sorting it out anyway.
