I just talked to my dealer and he said that little screenshot we got from the file doesn't tell the whole story. He said that the recall only applies to European models and does not apply to any bikes within the USA.

The importer in Australia has it on his computer and though I have not heard back form either dealer (surprise surprise) it appears that it applies to us here.
Maybe the US bikes are all out of the vin no. range?

If that were true I wouldn't care as much but my bike is within the VIN range and my dealer says it does not apply.

the exact thing posted on here is for europe. the us has a different recall "number" if you will, but does exactly the same thing. my dealer did the recall on mine two weeks ago. tell them to check again. i got a new map and they pulled a relay

I'm already "That Guy" at the dealership. I'll have someone else push the issue for me or I'll go take it to another dealer for this.

Thing is unless Aprilia contact you your dealer is going to give you a load of bull.
I had throttle sencer trouble on my Fazer and got no dealer joy untill I got a letter from Yamaha.

so your saying my dealer lied to me? cause the relay that is supposed to be pulled in the stuff posted on the forum is now gone from my bike...

brack, just bring it to another dealer or have them call Seacoast sport cycle and have them talk to Charles. Hes one of the owners and head of the service department. He will be able to give them the correct info. 603-437-5656 http://seacoastsport.com/
