hello
a friend of mine bought an sr50 factory .. very cheap, but he doesn't know the code needed for starting the scooter. another friend of mine took his dash out and mounted on the other scooter.. entered his code and the scooter was working and running fine.
do you happen to know a method of reseting the code? or how to find it out? without a gameboy and wothout going to the dealer... because the only dealer in romania is 400 km far away and they are in vacantion... and i doubt they have a gameboy.
another thing... do you happen to know the codes necesary to enter diagnosis and other stuff the dash is capable to do? ... i really don't know much about factory becayse i own a 2001 ditech.... but my friends would really need some help :)

Only a dealer can do that code resetting. I don't think the Gameboy is even part of changing the codes on the Factory either. I've got a Factory and a Gameboy cartridge, and I didn't see anything in the menus about changing the code. If you end up having to make the long trip to that dealer, call ahead and make sure they can take care of what you need....

he fucked both up :)) he entered the security code went to change code and it said insert the original key/code i don't really know... but finaly they went to change keys and the dash said: insert 1'st key, but they don't have a key with a chip, only a normal key so they are stuck here.. they stopped the scoot started it again, removed the power, disconnected the dash etc... but every time they wanna start the scoot it appears on the screen: please insert the 1'st key. so now they ended up with 2 non working scooters.
SilverSurfer ... where did you get your gameboy cartige from? and how much... because a guy from here wants to buy it, and i also need it because my injector doesn't spray regulary anymore. and i think a remap will do the trick. btw... no dealers here :)

1. Sounds very fishy
2. Why would you buy a scooter without knowledge of the security code for starting?
I would part it out.... In the US we call it chop :)

he paid only 500 dolars on the scooter... and bought it from it's first owner with 5000 km

I'm never good about mentioning that I don't actually have a cartridge, that my brother has a cartridge and so I have access to a cartridge... but anyways, it was right around $300US from our dealer in Albuquerque. I don't think a remap will actually fix the injector spray problem you're talking about though.... so you probably shouldn't spend money on a Gameboy cartridge for that problem... not sure, just my guess....
With the two (or three?) messed up Ditechs you guys have, seems like you should get them all in a truck and get them to whatever dealer is 400 km away, whenever they get back from vacation (and you make sure they know what to do about your problems before you go on that trip, heh). Though if you spend some time on it you might be able to get your injector problem worked out yourself, since that one sounds like a physical problem that may be fixable with just some tools and parts (o-rings maybe/probably.... ), and some carb cleaner to clean all the carbon off the injector....
