New T08 say'n hellow

Hey gang just got my first Aprilia, a 08 Tuono and all I can say is FANTASTIC BIKE. I've had a bunch of bikes over the last 30years and by far the T is the best handling and the fastest. I really like how it flicks around with ease but is still rock solid in a straight line. Being the original wheely monger I love the power and control.
I've done the Aprilia Akro's, Evo air box and derestricter. Map 2 and am going to remove the flywheel this weekend. I replaced the stock bars with a set of cut down Renthal FatBars that came extra with my old KTM 525, there'r even anodized orange like the fork caps. I like these bars better than stk because they aren't as swept back, and they are farther forward and feel much more aggressive.

Evo air box kit from AF1 - replaces original airbox top with a sleeve that then seals off the airbox using the underside of the fuel tank. Gives much larger capacity to the air box. There are a couple other designs out there too. The kiwis make them themselves!

The restrictor is not really a restrictor. It sits in front of the air intake of the airbox - put there to quieten the induction roar. It comes out easy enough - you just have to lift the tank, unscrew the airbox and pull it up and back from memory. The restrictor slips out of a locating slot (I did it - but not worth the bother IMO, unless you were doing the airbox too).

The flywheel removal is actually weights that are bolted onto the flywheel itself. These weights can be removed resulting in lighter flywheel = quicker throttle response, quicker to gather revs - but the jury is out whether it's actually an "improvement". Some guys like it, others don't. Not job not for the beginner either. Do a search on the RSV forum - there's detailed instructions there. :)

As to whether the air box mod is worth it is up to your own sensabillitys
It's not with out it's drawbacks. some have had air leakage around the seal ring, mine is sealing fine and I had every intention to monitor it regularly and look for problems. It did provide some boost but the big thing for me was the improvement in throttle response.

The Flywheel removal is another one of those things that may or may not be what I want, but I'm crazy enough to want to find out for my self.

But just yesterday I ran in to an unrelated problem with the T that derailed the flywheel thing for a wile until I figger out why It's only running on ONE CYLINDER!!!:confused:

Oh and one other thing I did was I got a throttle tube with a slightly bigger cable cam. This was great it's like adding 10 more HP. tho not really - but I do like how it's easer to access the power.
