fuel gauge!!!!

hi my fuel gauge is totaly out, it never moves out of the red lines even on a full tank:bangwall:, i have a sr50 ditech sbk is there anyway to solve this

My gas gauge isn't empty when it says it is. Even after the light comes on, I still have about 2L left. I showed it to the dealer a few months back. He said everything looked fine, but could still order another sending unit if I wanted. I still haven't gotten to it and probably won't for that.

The dealer's theory is that because it's fuel injected; it's the make sure the owner doesn't run it completely dry. It is technically not healthy for an electric fuel pump to have a low tank.

Check your pick up device on your vertical plastic float device adjacent to the fill cap. It could be broken, detached or maybe the float is sticking in the bottom position. Check with a parts diagram in the AF1 shopping section of this site.

My 06 fuel gauge went goofy over the winter. When the tank is less than 1/4 tank it shows empty. When its full it never goes all the way to the top. It may just need a resistor added to the signal wire.

The light is supposed to come on when you have 2 L left - I think it is in the manual.
