Hi, I'm here because I just bought a new '07 Strada and have spent an irksome evening trying to make sense of the computer instructions in the provided handbook. .............. By hands-on, poking the control button I was finally able to make some sense of the menus, BUT - can anyone please tell me what my " SECURITY CODE " is for even? ............ I called the dealer here in Mexico ( yeah, I know ) and he confessed he had hoped that I could figure it all out and tell HIM!!!

By the way, I love the bike itself and I have almost total confidence in the assumption that those Aprilia people actually DO have something clever in mind here. It immobilises the thing or something, - right? :bangwall:

It doesn't do much until the imobiliser won't recognise the key at which point the dash will ask you to enter your code which bypasses the key recognition imobilser

:burnout::Thanks Cupid

Yes, I figured as much but it was just guess work on my part. The key must have a chip in it right? I received a manuel with the bike that covers about 12 different languages and perhaps that info was lost for the sake of brevity. The whole section on the computer was out of order and made very little sense. Once straightened out though it was very simple to operate so I'm not complaining. Thanks again, Tom

The code for unlocking the safety devices can be changed by the owner. This should have been supplied with the bike and is either 0000 or 4444 I cant remember which mine was. If you search here for the owners manual it tells you how to re-set this number by using both keys.
As for the service code to enable the dealer to reset various parameters its 25973.

Thanks so much for the service code there Keith, - that just may come in very handy at some point in the future. And thank you for the nice welcome to the site Don.

Yesterday I took Peggy for the first long ride of her life on some twisty mountain roads and finished up going through some rough terrain, and I was VERY impressed. I had wanted the trail model but they couldn't get me one any time soon down here in Mexico, so I went for the Strada. I came home with a smile on my face because it was really nice on the black top and for a bike with little wheels it even did not so bad in the muck. The last big single I road was my big brothers old Matchless 600 back in '64, ............ my god, what a difference!!! .............. this is going to be FUN!:burnout:
