pretty soft off though, I'd be happy with that, well as far as crashing goes anyway

That's a weird crash...how do you even get your wheel to turn like that at speed!?

Good tires, but not great tires.

those look like dunlop 220 (a touring/spspsport tire), and i can slide those things everywhere at will.

fronts a hard as stone...not a good track tire, nope!

Look like stock tires, If so they are Bridgestones.

Don't think that even Australians are crazy enough to show up at the track on gixxer with D220s on it :D

I don't know but it look to me that the corner was over and the bike hadn't started turning yet.......pretty damn far from the apex I'd say. Too much speed?

holy crap if you are gonna be running the turn that hot you gotta get your ass off that seat and stand the bike up a little bit...the first pic is crazy...no way would it have been able to pull that turn on anything but the stickiest rubber

On the 1st pic he's already going down badly.

Love the Cadalora Replica helmet.

That's a Ventura rack system. The loop just goes in place of the rack.

Made in the land of the long white cloud. New Zealand

i think that is the front end tucking because of too much front brake. i can't tell from the pics if he is on the binder or not.

I bet he'd never have gone to the track day if he'd realised just how many 'experts' were going to analyse his errors.

This occurred at Turn Nine at Eastern Creek. You can't see the whole turn in the pix, but it's a 170deg downhill righthander. You can't see the exit until you're practically at the apex, unless your head is on a swivel (mine ain't!).

I go into that turn wide and slow, and turn in late. I'm embarrassingly slow through there, but I haven't dropped it yet either!

wow, looks like the bodywork is on the deck already. glad the next series weren't of a highside! :shooter:

If you look very closely you'll see that he's using one finger on the front brake, if you're on the anchors that late into a corner... you f@#ked it up!!!

I have to say that this guy looks like he's doing an Australian Superbike School course... yellow number sticker on the headlight to identify which group you're in, little white sticker with your name on it above the headlight, and the blue tape front and back to indicate who your instructor is. Of course, I could be guessing, but I just did a Level 1 course last weekend at Wakefield Park... :)

Of course, I was as slow as a wet week, but I improved vastly throughtout the day and I know there's room for much improvement. Honestly I would recommend the course to anyone.

Cheers - Demosthenes :aussie:

the only thing worse is when the camera man has a great big grin on his face and says "hey i got that one!!", and no other pics of when ure upright.

I reckon the story was told 1 frame before the series we see. In the first shot he's already way wide, way over and the bodywork is already ground out, and the front unloaded.

Poor bastard...... was a nice bike too

Eric,

I agree. Unfortunately, there is no previous frame in the series...

And new Dunlops at that!

Plus, in the last photo, it looks like he is still hanging on to the bars!

Let me guess, this guy never had done a track day and got the, "I'm on a circuit now and must show off", on his first round with cold tyres without having himseelf familiar with the track.

I remember my very first training day on Assen in March 1975 first round, rain poring down, temperature about 5 ºC. Go fast through the back end behind the boxes called "Veenslang" (translated the "moor snake") and on the end of it at that day there was a 90º rh turn in 1st. speed. I see some very slow riders about 300 meter in front of me just entering that rh turn and decide to go for them. When I turn in and am almost at the max. lean angle I see why the guys were so slow there. Oil !!!!
and no flagging!!! The rest looks looked the picture posted but without braking and a nice 2 wheel slide into the grass /no damages but my pride):(
