Here is a sweet video of Max Biaggi tearing it up on a supermotard. I Love how he backs it into the turns, wheelies out fo them and also brings up the rear when braking. Damn I gotta get me a motard. I don't like the music though!!

Thanks for the video. Damn, even after I get my motard (hurry up Ivan), I doubt I'll ever be able to ride it like that. :eek:

It's interesting to see there are others taking a liking to this form of two wheels. Never ridden one but from all accounts they are a blast around town. I read a review this year on a Husaberg 650 where they had to tear the bike away from the reviewer when it was time to give it back. VOR make a great looking machine as well as Vertemati and of course eventually Aprilia with their 450 twin. I wonder how long it will be before we see the likes of the Japanese 4 start making them.
Anyway, I thought I was the only one loopy over them but nice to see I'm in good company.

here in the states it seems most of the supermotos are converted Japanese dirt bikes! that's kinda' how it all began isn't it with the US Superbikers series of yore. don't forget ATK, CCM, Husky, etc. even the Cannondale is supposed to make a comeback.

A supermoto is a dirt bike that has 17" street tires/ upgraded brakes/ lowered suspension and a few other mods...so light weight with excellent power.....lots of fun!!

motard is a french word for motorcyclist, thus supermotard - super motorcyclist. a la it's original roots in the US, the SuperBikes!~!!!

note also this started with 19" dirt track tires. the 17's are the current rage because that's what race tires come in. there is a move now to 16.5's! but almost anything can go on a supermoto, even in the stock 21/18 sizes (sportsman class).

Problem with supermotard road bikes is the 9 litre fuel tanks. Gets you 100km between fills.
