Ok, I'm new to this forum thing, and just as new to scooter ownership. I have 2007 SR50 ditech. Deristricted. I just added a Leo vince ZX exhaust. I would like to change the roller weights in the variator, and found some great do it yourself information in these forums. I think the job is do-able for me, but I'm spooked by the nut holding the variator. I don't own an impact wrench. I'm curious as to how anyone else did the job without the cost of an impact wrench. I'm more concerned with putting it back on. I understand lock tite will do the trick, but again, don't have an impact wrench.
thanks
Ej

If you are in the Lou, such as St. Louis, you should swing by Lewellyns Pub on the Central West End on Mondays and hang out.
Anyway, You dont need an impact wrench to do the job. Even if you do have one, putting locktite on is BS. There isnt any loctite on from the factory, so why would any decent bloke put loctite on that nut when putting it back on? If you torque the nut to factory specs you dont need any loctite.
