Is the screen for the Shiver available yet in the USA and does anyone know the price?

I am having a holiday in sunny Orlando in about 8 weeks and would like to visit a good Aprilia dealer where I can get a few bits and pieces and maybe the screen? If anyone can give me details it would be appreciated

I am also after some new trousers. Does anyone have any recommendations for general UK riding (not the rainy stuff - just the cold) ? I have a Dainese jacket and was looking at their trousers and thinking again they may be a lot cheaper in the States given current exchange rates. I want knee and shin protection and probably hip as well if I can get it. Originally I wasn't going to go leather as I feel it may be too hot in the summer - what would you recommend ?
Thanks.

Cortech tourmaster line makes some good textile overpants, etc. good prices good quality. I have a dainese two piece suit and first rate quality, it's an older suit. Not sure what you'll find in Orlando as finding a dealer that stocks a lot of Dainese might be tough. You could try going to the dainese site and check for the dealers.

I have Gericke Voyager II trousers (I think) Goretex, and lined (removable) and ventilated (zipped vents).

Pretty much the best all weather trousers I've ever had, including rain and most extreme UK cold.

They have Knee, shin and hip armour fitted, and are very comfortable. They never feel that protective with the lining removed though.

I want to wear leathers but I almost always end up wearing these out of practicality.

Not particularly cheap though, and I doubt you can get them in the US.

I dont know if they have them in America or not.

But i would recommend draggin jeans.

Have the kevlar lining in all the important spots and really comfortable and fairly warm

They're actually made in the USA surprisingly enough (doesn't seem like much is anymore!). Can echo that, draggin jeans are what I wear to work every day. Had an acquaintance who went down wearing a set, shredded the jeans but the kevlar panels stayed in place and no slide injury whatsoever.

I have two pair of Draggin Jeans and love them. They are made right here in North Carolina. Fit great, I even got armor knee protection from them that attaches to the Kevlar knee protection.

Me too me too. They are my max protection for longer trips.

Though I prefer sandals, shorts, and a tee on hot days.

Just kidding. I would only wear that on a quick trip to the local shop just down at the end of our road.

Always gloves though.

Thanks for the tips and I will definitely check out some of the trousers before I make a decision.:worship:

I had seen the draggin' jeans, but after wearing normal jeans for the last couple of weeks I'm cold ! :whiner: Are the draggin' jeans any warrmer?

Anyone know of an Aprilia dealer in Orlando and whether the screen is available there yet ?

Thanks
Kevin

Draggin jeans don't provide impact protection so much as slide injury, having worked in ERs for years and years - slide injury is probably the easiest avoidable m/c injury when wearing this type of jean.

Shiver, the draggin jeans are a bit warmer than regular jeans, but not really ideal for long rides. Textile seems to be the way to go, as my two piece leathers are brutal in georgia summers. I've got a vanson perfed leather jacket which is ideal, and have to get the perfed pants to go with. Vanson a bit pricey but reallly high quality stuff.

The draggin jeans here in australia also have the made in Australia tag.

Thought that it would probably be an American company that owned them just wasnt quite sure

Hi Zvez

I checked out the vanson pants and they look pretty good. I think the textile ones would probably suit me best. I still like the Dainese Odessa Pant which at £200 make the Vansons exceptional value. There is a vanson dealer on the coast near Daytona so it will be an excuse for a drive and a break from the parks !
