Nice pics. Where/what was the 140 mile twisty road? Any tickets, and drama?
Do tell.

I'm really only about 6'1" but the bike is leaning toward the camera enough to make it look tiny. Hwy 36 from Red Bluff to 101 is the 140 miles of roller coaster twistys from heaven!

Looks like your timing to hit good spring weather in SD was just right. Too bad we didn't know you were around or you would have gotten a nice back-country tour.
That goes for the rest of you chuckleheads, too ... Make your presence known!

I was out for 10 days, going to a four day business conference so I needed something to wear besides the leathers. It was 40f and raining hard the day I left Portland, and sunny and about 80f at the Golden Gate. I needed room for all the extra rain gear and heated stuff when it got warm. The tank bag was 90% camera gear.
Day one was the worst part, I-5 to Redding, CA. Day two made it worth it, Hwy 36 from Red Bluff(140 miles of twisty road!) to 101 then on to San Francisco. Day three was even better-101 to Gilroy then cut over to Hollister then Hwy 25 (wow!) then Hwy 33 all the way to Ventura (5000 ft. to sea level in about 20 miles!), then back on the 101 to San Diego.
On the way back I rode Hwy 1 on the coast(A++) most of the way to Crescent City at the Oregon border, then took Hwy 199(A+) over to I-5. In the ten days out, I rode about 2800 miles, and it's all a business write off!
