Not that particular "rare" model, no. However, Scuderia West does sell Aprilia electric bicycles. They have a couple in their front window.

It is just like a regular bicycle, except there is a motor in it that assists your pedaling whenever you are pushing hard. It is just meant to make a long commute on a bike easier, so you don't get to the end covered in sweat. Some cities give tax breaks to people who ride those to work instead of hopping into their big suv for the commute.

Your better off buying a 50cc scooter, I did! (then put a big bore kit and race exhaust) WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Well, any motorized vehicle pollutes more than an electric bicycle. Plus, you can bring the bicycle indoors most places, instead of just parking on the street or sidewalk. Plus, it is lighter weight, and you get exercise while using it.

Don't get me wrong, I love my scooter, but it is no replacement for my bicycle (which I also love).

sam

We had one in the shop for a little while, so I've ridden it. It's ok. Freakin' heavy. Seems more designed for the older folks that don't have much fitness. When you peddle, it electrically (battery) assists moving your fat ass down the road. Top speed is NOT fast enough to have much fun with.

Like with all push bikes, the top speed is limited only by how fit you are. If you want a higher top speed, exercise more. :D

My mountain bike is geared pretty low, so it usually tops out at around 20mph, but 20mph down a steep granite outcropping is pretty damn fast. Its all relative. :)

Philadeux,

Well, any motorized vehicle pollutes more than an electric bicycle.

Well, that really depends on how clean the local electric generation system is, isn't it?

I wonder if I put up a modern jap mini-sedan with a clean engine versus an electric car in an area that uses dirty coal for their power.....

THis debate was kicked around quite a bit WTR fuel cell vehicles, sometimes all you do is change _where_ the emissions are generated (ie, in the car or in the local power plant),

Now, if we got off our asses and started forcing the power companies to get cleaner, you might have a point...
