For all of you lot who have brought 2007 model shivers and seen the revamped models, with redesigned seat, grab rail and different ECU mappings...
... did you know you can get your dealer to retrofit the modified parts free of charge under Aprilia warranty now?
Im sure most of you knew about the ECU bit... but did you know about the other too... i like the way the its worded on the press release.
"At the owners request" sounds to me like, dont tell them but if theyve just brought a old spec one and complain, do it for them.

Its been resulptured to make it less angled, slightly narrower and slightly lower as the bike is currently slightly too tall for a lot of people.. they have also made it slightly more comfortable... pop into a dealers and take a look at a new shiver as they all come with it now (well once the old stock has been shifted with the cheap finance deals being offered to get them cleared)

Hmm, looks like another phone call to the dealer then.
Thanks very much for this info.
I wonder what the new seat is like?

Pop down to your dealers and look for the new style grab rail, find one and it will have the new seat as well.... sit on it and youll see whats changed.
Personally i dont mind the old seat, but ive got a 34" inside leg which helps... a lot of people, even those who love the bike have commented on the fact the seat was a weak point and is the reason Aprilias changed it.... they are really trying over the next couple of years to up there game and show how good they really can be.

Please let us know about the new seat.
I'm fine with this one but will change if it is more comfy and a little lower.
