Hello,
This is all the old nuts and bolts I took off and replaced with gold titanium and alloy bolts
The only ones missing are the four M10 x 55mm front caliper bolts which I accidentally left at the dealer.
As well as the weight savings they look great too!
Titanium has almost half the weight and double the strength of the original steel nuts and bolts.
Pro bolt the company I purchased my nuts and bolts from had a photo shoot last week for their new 2008
brochure, completely by luck I popped in to see them to show them my bike, the photographer took
some pictures which lou (the boss) told me might make it into the new brochure? I hope so, that
would be superb if a couple did.

How much did it cost, roughly?

it would be great if you could work out the weight saving too (I'm getting preoccupied with putting the Shiver on a diet)

I have spent about £350 to £400 but I did get some extra nuts, bolts and washers which I have left over. I got 10% discount too as I'm in the trade. you could probably do 90% off the bike and certainly all the nuts and bolts you can see for about approximately the same price.
It depends how far you want to go really, the titanium items are the most expensive, to give you an example the front caliper fixing bolts which are
M10 (1.25) x 55mm are £10.05 each + vat. the 4 cost me £42.51 inc with the vat and the 10% off, They look and feel superb though, super light really smooth and perfectly finished. all the bits and pieces they do are exceptional quality, I have never seen such perfectly machined and finished nuts and bolts. It's like a sweet shop at there premises. your surrounded by shinny nuts and bolts.
They also do some race specials. special fixings fasteners, nuts and bolts for race bikes. it's definitely worth requesting a brochure.
I have all the part numbers for the bits and pieces I have had but the Problem is as it was a new bike they didn't list anything for the Shiver so I had to go in with a pattern for everything I wanted. I basically took one of everything I wanted off the bike in a clear bag with a label on it saying what it was for, plus what material and colour I wanted the new item in, they simply matched them up, Everything except the front caliper bolts which were out of stock.
I would be happy to help anyone on the Forum who wanted to change some or all of the bolts on there bike, just let me know what you want and I'll try and get you the part number so you can order some off them.
I originally started replacing them as the standard nuts and bolts looked dull and seemed to be going rusty after only a month on the bike. I then got carried away as you do.
I didn't initially ask for titanium but you need to have it in places where there is more torque required to tighten things up ie, fork clamps, handlebar clamp, calipers etc etc.
I could have gone for alloy which is a bit cheaper but you can't have them anodized gold which they also did for me in house, they do charge a small fee for this but it's well worth it.
Pro bolt are really helpful and friendly, they are based in Tewkesbury near Gloucester, (junction 9 off the M5 motorway). They are very professional and really know there stuff when it comes to nuts and bolts, I mainly deal with Dawn and Ian, they can tell a bolts size, pitch length, shank length just by looking at it.
Their contact details are.

I Highly recommend requesting a brochure from them, it has all you need to know about ordering inside, it even has illustration guides to help you determine the size of your nuts and bolts.
As a rule though you will need to know the size ie M4 M5 M6 M8 M10 M12. plus the length ie x 25mm long and the pitch of the thread. Pro bolt have developed a gauge which you can buy from them at a very reasonable price, Dawn designed it, it's great! It will even help you find out your thread pitch.
If your struggling though tell them where the bolt goes and in most cases they will know the pitch it will be.
OK weight saving, having just weighed the bits and pieces I have taken off I can tell you it comes to about 2 kilos give or take a few grams. the items I put back on are approx half the weight so you can loose up to a kilo in weight. OK not a huge amount but that 's not why I originally bought them, I bought them as they look superb and really enhance the look of your bike, the weight saving was a bonus.
If you a serious racer a kilo in weight makes can make all the difference, plus the piece of mind knowing you have exceptional quality materials holding your bike together is priceless, also
don't forget they do kits and individual pieces for all bike manufactures.
Hope this helps.
