i took my bike to the aprilia dealer because i was having trouble keeping it started. something was wrong with the fuel air system. they found the problem in a check off vavle replaced it then started it and all was good. while setting the idle all of a sudden theres this knocking sound coming from the front cylinder. a sort of metal tapping sound. i never had this before and now they ask me what i did. has anyone experienced this before? any advice would be helpful cause the tech and i have no idea. waiting on word back from aprilia central tuesday, cross your fingers for me.

If the air box was off, there are little metal bushings that fit into the bottom or the airbox surrounding the screws that mount the airbox to the injetor bodies. These little M6 bushings can come out and fall thru the valves int o the engine. If you are missing one of the bushings you can turn the engine by hand and fish the metal out thru the valves with a magnetic probe as sold at auto stores. This happened to afriend of mine, resulting in lots of stress, but happily the Rotax chewed up the metal bushing and shat it back out, resulting in no change to compression or leakdown.

That's the way mine sounds. It should get a little quieter with the clutch lever pulled in. In neutral with the clutch lever out the tabs on the clutch plates rattle in their slots in the basket.
