Can anyone help with information about resetting the service interval lamp on a 2005 Ducati ST3?
Thanks!
The only way is the dealer. Takes a special machine/computer. It does no harm not to reset it though. Many have left theirs "on" for thousands of miles.

This should have been done when you had it serviced. Take it back to the dealer and they will turn it off. It only takes a few minuets.

The bike belongs to a friend of mine. I just reset his valve clearances and did some other stuff to wake it up a bit.
The Ducati forums that I perused are weak, so I was hoping to learn how to reset his service lamp on this forum. The OM and SM do not mention it.
Any solid help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Righto --- the Ducati Dealer DDS tool is the only way to shut down that light. Monster, Sport Classics, and SuperSports (they all have similar dashes) are just about the only models left that allow for a "button-sequence" to turn that light off.

Maybe the st3 is the same as the monster?
Maintenance indicator reset
On late model monsters, press and hold the Left function button, THEN turn on the key.
If you want to spend about $200, you can buy a VDSTS from Technoresearch. It is a software package and interface cable that will allow you to do most of the stuff that you'll ever need to do at home - including resetting the error codes. I've got one for my S4Rs and I can reset codes, zero the tps and adjust the idle mixture on the DP ecu.

The list shows a version for th ST3

I did some searching and it doesn't look like the button on the dash works for the ST3. The Technoresearch site has a Q&A page and question #19 is:
19 Q: How do I reset the maintenance light?
A: The maintenance light can be reset via software (VDSTS) for the following Ducati models:
Multistrada, Superbike, Sporttouring & Sportclassic. For the Ducati Model Monster & Supersport, the maintenance light can be reset manually.
So it looks like either a trip to the dealer or spring for a tool.

Thanks Bill.
I'll have him give this sequence a try and then report those results here.

I caught him in his garage tonight.
That sequence did not clear the service lamp.
He'll take it to his dealer buddy.
Thanks for trying to help out anyway.
