To the other 74 owners of the Racing version, Hello.
If you haven't noticed yet, you were probably given a 16 tooth sprocket in your kit that is identical to the one installed on the bike when you got it. According to Marc V. at Aprilia they should have issued a 15 tooth sprocket in the kit. The confusion came from the fact that the European bikes come with a 17 tooth on the bike and U.S. bikes get a 16 tooth installed from the factory. The kit sprocket should be one less tooth than what is furnished on the bike when you get it from the dealer. The delivering dealer will swap you out if you request the right one.
Another note,
All 75 bikes were brought into the U.S. as California versions with the vapor canisters in the tail section. This was done by Aprilia to simplify bike distribution in the U.S.. They didn't want to be concerned with what state the bike was going to, so they made them all the same. There is a procedure for removing the system on this site if you choose to do so. It frees up some space in the tail section for storage.
If any of you are in the Houston, TX area, send me an email and we'll get hooked up for a ride.
