Guys, I am doing my first trackday on my RSV and saw the manual requires part # 8124943, jumper device, in order to bypass my removed kickstand. What is everyone else doing in lue of this? Do I really need to order this part or can I fabricate something to do it myself? Thanks! Darrin

People will probably hate my "fix", but I used electrical tape to secure the kill switch that was attached to the kickstand. I moved the little slider switch to the full "up" position (where the dash doesn't display the "kickstand down" icon, and then wrapped the switch tightly so it won't move at all. I then zip-tied the switch and cable to the left-side fairing stand-off in front and above the shift lever. It doesn't interfere with anything and you can't see it with the bodywork on, so it works for me. 15,000 miles since I've done it and I got in the habit of always looking down for my kickstand before motoring off.

It's a non-permanent solution and I was thinking mostly about re-sale.

When I went thru this a few weeks ago, the dealer told me that part is not avail in the USA. So I used a short wire loop with a "female" connector on each end.........disconnected the kickstand switch at the wiring harness (just under fuel tank same side as kickstand) as shown in the manual............I then connected the wire loop to the two outside "male" pins on the harness side connector....you leave the middle pin alone......taped everything up including kickstand side for future reference.........used a tie wrap to secure fix nice & tight.........put everything back in place.......works great. There are a few old threads if you try search for more details & other solutions ie; splicing wires at kickstand switch level............good luck
