I traded my Ducati 900 SS/SP last week on a new Tuono-my wrists and back couldn't take even a moderate crouch anymore for long rides. I've got about 475 miles so far and I'm completely in love, but I'm reading about all these mods and my wallet is itching. First, airbox-I'll probably go with the Evoluzione kit, but is there any "derestriction" to do besides the Evo kit? Next, a slip-on. I had Staintunes with no baffles on the duck, and it was way too loud. The dealer had two used milles, one with an arrow full system and one with the aprilia race can. The aprilia race can was a little raspy-not bad, but not quite the sound I was looking for. The full 2-2 arrow sounded great, aggressive but mellow, but I'm not ready to spend $1500-$2000 just yet. I really like the shotgun look, but I haven't actually seen it on a tuono-anyone have pics? Any info or opinions on single can slip-ons would be great-do they all sound the same? What is the real difference between titanium and aluminum from the same maker-just weight and looks, or better performance and longevity? Sorry for the long post, I'll save the rest for later!

Diff between Ti and Alum:
I 'd say weight and of course it looks diff.
Maybe is doesnt heat up as much.

I put the Ti Akropovich Slip-on and love it. Weighs a fraction of stock. It way less restrictive. The stock canister has a restrictor in the midpipe that conected to the can. And there is also an intake restrictor under the airfilter. The dealer might have removed it already.

i have a leo vinci slip on and i am very pleased with its sound and looks, and of course price!:p
the EVO chip and air box kit do make a very noticeable difference, 4 more in max HP but 5-7 more in midrange. If you do not want to spend much money just get a slip on and later you get the chip/air box. These mods are worth it to me.
If you are the kind that keeps his bike for a while, then you may consider a full set of pipes, the sound (more base and less volume) and performance are better.
I usually keep my bikes for 2-3 years max so i do not tend to spend much money in mods. I hope this helped

derestricted my 03, put on the aprilla shot gun exhaust, sounds good, entered it in the best sounding italian bike @ the midatlantic ital bike fest in Shepardstown wv, came in third, 899 USD with chip, aprilia sent me a 400 coupon, the price was definately right 499 USD, midranges is amazing, wheelies are more regular than not

How did you get the $400 coupon from Aprilia?

I recommend the Factory Pro chip. I have the Evo airbox mod and Aprilia race can. I love the sound of the pipe. My buddy has the Harris can and I think it's a little too loud.

Even the guys at my local Aprilia dealership said there's no reason to get a full exhaust system because the stock headers are great quality.
