So i'm building my italian triumverate, i have the RSV Mille, love it, waiting till next year for a 1098, but thinking about the F4 1000 this year. I know they are not importable into Canada as yet, however, I am willing to set things up in states to register and then ride up here. I'm in BC. Any advice? who's the best dealer? i'm interested in a new 07. perhaps the r312. any canadians out there who own and store them in usa?

Did you see the one self-destruct at Fontana last weekend? It was sad, but might be a deal on a track-only bike. I might suggest contacting Pro Italia in Glendale as they have a reputation or contact the importer in Philly or New Jersey (look in back of Cycle News). They bring in Cagiva, Bimota etc.
Although the bikes are beauties, considering they don't seem to be the best performers, you might consider going back a few years - even to a 750. I see them going pretty cheap sometimes. Check Cycle News and eBay for deals - especially if your waiting for the next big thing.

Thanks for the information. i've heard though that the older 750's are actually weak. i've also heard that the 07 finally comes with some decent equipment, like brembo's and ohlins etc. an R312 would be NICE indeed.

A friend of RickTReloaded has an SPR. Really sweet looking bike. Have you sat on one yet? I took the opportunity to sit on one at the InterMot Show in SF last year. I was unimpressed with the seating on such a beautiful motorcycle. The seat is wide where it meets the tank and for my short legs, it hits my thighs and forces them outward so my feet won't touch the ground. I can barely tip toe to touch but it's very uncomfortable. I was astounded that the bike could be nearly as narrow as a twin in nearly every physical dimension but so much like a transverse four where it interfaces with it's rider. Now if you have long legs it won't be an issue but if you're in the 30-32 inseam group you won't be comfortable with it.....sean

Yes i've heard they are uncomfortable too. I'll get a custom seat made if necessary, small price to pay. my RSV has an amzingly comfortable seat however, i am not able to flat foot on it. i have a 31 inseam i think. no big deal, i don't like spending too long at a stop anyways.

Contact Beaudry Motorsports in Post Falls Idaho. It's just a few minutes outside of Spokane. They have a lot of experience importing Aprilia and MV into Canada and in particular into B.C. They have a very nicely set up dealership. Their website is www.beaudrymotorsports.com
I hope this helps. I would love to have a new MV inspite of any "shortcomings". Good hunting.

thanks. I posted this on a different thread but it's applicable here too..
"interesting. your woes over function vs form are common. I am wanting one based on looks and its pedigree heritage. hell, bragging rights. but if MV tarnishes it's bragging rights image too much, it'll hit them where it hurts. I went into the aprilia expecting some flaws and issues, but for the most part the quality and fit/finish have impressed me. my mille came off the showroom floor with better stock parts than it's much more expensive cousin F4 1000 would have. I'm taking my time buying the F4 for good reason."
it will be interesting to see what the mv comes up with after this years AMA
im waiting for my next ride also, i wont be buying untill spring 2008 i really want to see what aprilia and KTM come up with in response to the MV and the 1098.

i have a 750 and its not that uncomfortable. on long rides the seat digs into your thighs but other than that its not to bad. you will not believe the attention that the bike will get...its actually kind of annoying. but if your looking for a dealer i would call ferracci they are the american importer they are in penn. i believe.
you cant go wrong with a mv man enjoy

Even IF I had the money (which I surely don't) I wouldn't pay that much for a bike. I'll take a 1098, a F41000, a ZX6R, AND maybe a new trailer just to truck my new toys around in.

Good luck...I've been trying to get one up here for a few years now. None of the USA dealers seem to want to help or know how and cagiva usa does not return any emails. Husky dealers up here can't get a response either. Seems we need the backing of Cagiva USA before the border will let the bikes in. All it takes is for them to write a letter stating that the bike complies with CDN DOT. If you find a way spread the word. I'm after a brutale.

Well am very curious in how to bring one up to, especially since I just purchased an 07 F4 Senna. I have a friend who lives in Seattle thinking of registering it there and bringing it up to BC.
