2001 rsv mille heading down the road today when the motor slowly came to a halt. It was like it was running out of gas. Yes I had gas. Got the bike home on a truck and checked for spark. Spark is good. Took lid off of airbox and opened butterflies to check for fuel spray and nothing was coming through. Fuel pump turns on like normal, I hear the prime for 3-4 seconds. Bike turns over like normal- it just never fires up. Battery is in great shape. I just need help figuring out why the injectors will not fire. Bike only has 5200 miles on it, and has had all regular maintenence. Thanks for the help in advance!

p.s. I've only had the bike for about a month so I am super upset about this!:pissed:

sounds exactly like a fuel line inside the gas tank is ruptured or popped off. Several Milles have had this happen. The fuel pump never gets the fuel to injectors

to check, you'll need to drain the tank....get our tank drain kit, or pop off the return line from the gas tank base unit.....

remove the 6-8 screws holding the fuel pump base plate from bottom of gas tank, slide the whole unit out, and inspect the hoses on the pump to and from the fuel filter.

Well Ed you are exactly right! I didn't get to check the thread until this morning but last night I found the hose between the pump and the filter popped off. So you are dead on! BTW the materials you gave me were very helpful. I didn't drain the tank, I spilled a little money on the ground but I will live! I replaced the fitting around that end of the hose with a new one that was stainless and had a philips head adjuster. I will put some pics up of it soon, just in case some more people run into the problem. Thanks again Ed and Steve for the help yesterday.
